SIZING BELTS. Please pay close attention to the following. In order for us to provide you with a quality product we need accurate information from you regarding size.
All of the belts at The Beggars Pouch Leather are hand crafted at our shop. We cut long, straight lengths from our hides, bevel the edges, dye the leather in a variety of colors, apply a hand rubbed wax finish and finally dye and polish the edges. Every belt is custom cut to fit our customer. If someone stops by the shop, we have him put the belt on and custom fit the holes and the belt length to his waist. Ordering by phone or internet is something different. We strongly advise you to carefully measure a belt you are comfortable wearing. To accurately size our belt for you we need 3 things:
1. The width of the belt you wish to purchase. We make our belts in the following widths….1″ wide, 1 1/4″ wide, 1 1/2″ wide, and finally 1 3/4″ wide. Belts are priced by the type of leather, the style of the belt and the width of the leather. Prices are listed under each belt style and width on our belt page. Please Note: our belts are all cut slightly less than the stated width. This allows the leather to slide through the buckle without chaffing the edge.
2. The size of the belt. Please note that a waist size is not your belt size. In general, a belt size is at least 2″ or 3″ longer than your waist size. For a correct sizing we strongly recommend that you carefully measure to the hole you are most comfortable in. We will use this measurement as a center hole of your new belt, with 3 holes on the shorter side and 3 holes on the longer size.
3. The length of your belt. Again, carefully measure the length of your old belt and tell us just how long your new belt should be. In general, the length should reach to just beyond the first belt loop on your pants. We can cut longer, or shorter according to your preference.
