The Beggars Pouch Leather has been selling UGG Australia boots and shoes for over 20 years. I don’t really remember how we found UGG boots, or who recomended them to us, or why we decided to bring the boots into our shop, but in hind sight it sure turned out to be a good business decision.
Way back then there were only a few styles in the UGG footwear line. Classic shorts and Classic Talls were the start of it all. A few years later Ultra short and Ultra talls and a shoe called the Nullabor were added and gave the line a little more diversity. Being in northern New Hampshire’s ski country sure was a big help in selling sheepskin footwear. Who doesn’t appreciate warm feet in cold winter weather?
Things have changed a lot over the years. UGG Australia has grown and become a pretty popular line. We no longer have to explain to our customers that the boots should be worn barefoot. Today’s customer is a whole lot more knowledgeable about the product, and is much more decerning. They are very familar with the boots and know just what style and color they need to fill in their wardrobe. They are what we call UGG Fashionistas.
The most fascinating thing about the UGG Fashionistas is who they are. They are a 20 something year old college student who wears UGGs everywhere and has 2 or 3 or 4 pairs of boots in different colors. They are the 13 or 14 year old who shops for UGGs as a back to school shoe-boot. They are a 30 something year old mother of an UGG princess who understands why her daughter loves her boots so much. They are also the 5o something year old mother of the mother of the UGG princess who just plain likes the styles and warmth and comfort that UGG boots give her. Simply put, UGG Boots appeal to folks of all ages. UGG has become a cross generational product. UGG boots have become a staple that is found on everyone’s feet.

The Fall colors are bright in the mountains of New Hampshire this season, and the temps are just starting to remind us all that summer is gone and Autumn has arrived in all it’s glory. And UGG Australia has delivered a new boot just in time for the change of seasons.
The Lynnea by UGG Australia has been turning heads since it arrived in our shop last week. This boot has inspired the most interest of the new styles for this year…..which shouldn’t be too much of a surprise, since it is one great looking boot! The high heel style on a cushioned wooden platform really catches the eye. The sheepskin cuff adds a warm look for fall. This boot just screams to be tried on.
The response has been so strong this week that we have been trying to get few more delivered this fall, but UGG Australia is already sold out on the style until next March. We have Lynnea in stock right now in all sizes and in 3 colors; black, chestnut and espresso suede. But when these are gone there will be no more til next year, so be sure and snag your Lynnea boots real soon, and then go out and enjoy the Fall colors. It is always a fun day when the big brown UPS truck backs into the loading dock and starts tossing out case after case of UGG footwear. We order UGGs in January, right after we meet with Scott K. preview the entire line, and to be honest, sometimes we forget exactly what a style looks and feels like. Sometimes it feels like Christmas when new styles and colors finally arrive at the shop…….especially when everyone is checking them out and trying them on….Donna.
At least that is what this week was like when 14 cases showed up. My favorites were Kana….pictured above and Caspia a lace up ankle boot from the UGG surf collection. Both feature rich soft leathers and the most comfortable cushioned innersoles you can imagine. 7 new styles arrived this week, which means we have a little something for all the different UGG customers out there.

It was busy at the shop today. 4 new styles of Danskos arrived and there were shoes to be unpacked, logged in and tried on by the crew. The Shyanne clog (pictured) is a real good looking style with a cut out band for just the right amount of detailing. Maeve arrived in all 3 colors; black, brown and ruby. Solitaire was big hit with crew. Looks like we might be picking up a few more pairs just for them. Ivy is another new clog style that has a strap w/buckle for adjustment and is detailed by faux stitching up the front. We have them all in multiple colors and and all sizes. If by chance anyone is actually reading this, it is only the the grace of God and the hard work and effort of Mz. Carla, the Midnight Mistress of the World Wide Web. The Beggars Pouch had a bit of a web melt down this week that closed our blog down. Mz. Carla got on the case Friday morning and by last night it was up and alive again.

Today is September 1 2009, and it sure feels like Fall here in North Conway NH. The calendar may tell you that summer will continue for the next few weeks, but the cool evenings, chilly mornings and warm mellow afternoons make it feel like Fall. Early Fall is the best of all the seasons……it just has a smooth rich feel to it. The Dansko Pavans that arrived yesterday also have a smooth rich feel to them.
The Dansko Pavan has the look and style of the Dansko Professional, but the design folks at Dansko went a step further and added a padded collar to the Pavan and even included a neat looking cut-out design to it. It looks like Summer has finally arrived in New Hampshire……and so have the UGG boots for 2009. The weather has really been a mixed bag of rain and drizzle for most of June and July. The sun has finally made an appearance in August and North Conway again is looking like the summer resort haven it really is. People are getting into river swimming along with the hiking, biking and camping the white mountains of New Hampshire are known for. The temps have been up in the 90′s for past few days; the warmest stretch of weather we have seen yet this year.
What a strange time for UGG Australia Sheepskin boots to be delivered, but last week the big brown UPS truck dropped off a whole lot of boots here at the Beggars Pouch. Seems hard to believe, but they got here just in time. Yesterday the temp hit 92 here in North Conway, and our morning sales started strong with customers out and about early to beat the heat………and they were shopping for Uggs.
The 2 hot new UGG Australia styles for 2009 are the Bailey Button…….the run away winner in the young-girl-back-to-school look……..and the Bettey……….really hot with the young ladies looking for a shoe/clog with UGG’s style and fashion.
The Bailey Button is an addition to the UGG Classic line. Bailey Button is the same height as the classic short, but has an open side that allows it to be worn buttoned up high or buttoned down low for a cuffed look. The best Christmas present you can find under your tree is a pair of UGG Classic boots. Christmas came early to The Beggars Pouch today, when we got an extra order of UGG classic Short boots and UGG classic Tall boots just in time for the holiday season. UGG has been sold out of extra stock for a long time; these boots just dropped into our laps from who-knows-where, and we snagged them as fast as we could. UGG boots are not just your daughter’s fashion statement anymore. This season UGG has come up with some hot styles that are sure to turn some heads. The Classic Short and Talls are still the boot of choice for the young UGG fashionistas, but the Kona and the Endell are 2 hot styles that are really getting a lot of attention from ladies of all ages.
